Weird Things to Say

We've all heard of the old phrase - "Wham, bam, thank you Ma'am!" Here's its lesser-known trans-gender equivalent - "Slap, whack, no thanks, Jack!" I think it's a hilarious, 'kick-in-the-nuts' line that ladies everywhere should keep handy!

You know those torus shaped pool toys that we inflate with air and children use to keep themselves afloat in the water? Well, I came across one today that actually had the warning "NOT A LIFE SAVING DEVICE" stamped onto it! What they probably meant was that this item should not be bought to replace the regular life preservers that are used at swimming pools. But I don't think a drowning victim would appreciate the irony of the situation if someone refused to throw him one of these floats since that would constitute 'saving a life'!

You know your room's a little bit too messy when it takes you about 10 minutes to find the bed! I hate tidying up my room because I feel that a neat room loses its innate, 'college-student-room' charm. But when it's hard to get from door to computer without risking a sprained ankle, I think I may just be taking things a tad too far!

In a post a few days back, I had mentioned how people sometimes say the stupidest of things. Here is another example.

I remember a girl, who obviously hadn't traveled much by train (or anything else it looks like), once saying as the train we were in pulled into a station, "Oh! I didn't know trains slowed down as they stopped!"

hey was checkin out your comments on ketakis blog.so decided to see what you had to say on your blog.nice post, the latest one, though let me point out the reason most of those kiddy floats arent allowed in the swimming pool is coz they are not properly made and have jagged edges more often than not so, should the need arise to save the person it will only hinder the life gaurd. oh and one more thing, why would a person who cant swim be in any place where he or she is liable to drown. thats just askin for trouble dont you think? lol.no lecture intended ;-)

natasha - hey! love the enthusiasm - u actually posted your comment *twice*!! ;)

speaking of people who dont know how to swim getting in potential-drowning scenarios, u're right.. in fact most of the people who drown are those u actually *do* know how to swim... the reason they drown is either cramp or some other similar problem... a person who does not know how to swim would be a 100 times more careful about getting into dangerous positions...! the only times such people really end up drowning, is when the boat they're in capsizes or their car falls into a river or something like tht..

nef - lol!! apparently the untidy-bedroom syndrome is more wide spread than any of us previously imagined!

It is. I usually have to endure threats of sustained torture and descriptions of hellfire whenever my mother sees my room. :)

the enthusiasm was unintentional. lol.by the time i realised had posted it twice, was in a state of lethargy, couldnt bother to delete it. and if ur thinking lazy shit, then dont, chennai summers do that to you.its so hot here, the swimming pools are losing water to evaporation.anyway as for the jassi post, dont give up on your dad, i felt the same way when i saw my dad watchin TNA wrestling, talk abt retarded tv. its a passin phase.

i know... the summer here too is killing.. if there's on one thing i cant stand it's the heat... gimme the cold any day!

btw, at least wrestling (no matter how asinine) is still manly.. a soap?? anyways.. all is forgiven on tht front.. esp since i do catch the occasional episode of Oprah! *winks*
